“Donegal people have always had a great relationship with the Icon of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour. It has been part of the makeup of many of our homes for as long as we can remember. Mary, the Mother, presenting the Child for all to welcome and to petition. Mary, the one who protects and leads and points to the Solution, encourages young and old to know Him whom she bore. Mary the servant showing to the world that there is a better way.

It is with great joy in my heart that I, as Administrator of the Cathedral, will welcome the Icon among our people on Thursday 5th and Friday 6th May 2016. I pray that many will come to know Him through Our Lady of Perpetual Succour. “

Yours in Christ,
Fr Eamon Kelly

The Redemptorists are a religious congregation of brothers, most of whom are priests. We live in community and are passionate about preaching the Gospel, especially to those who feel abandoned and live on the edges of church and society. A growing network of co-workers and associates is evidence of our conviction about the importance of partnership in mission and of our commitment to enable all the baptized to take their rightful place in the life and ministry of the church.
